Leeds Utd boss Bielsa defends Casilla

Leeds United boss, Marcelo Bielsa, has leaped to the defence of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

The 34-year-old is second choice behind Frenchman Illan Meslier.

He was involved in the FA Cup third-round loss to Crawley, and fans felt the first two goals they conceded were due to his mistakes.

Casilla has not played a Premier League game this term.

“I fully trust in Kiko and I will do the utmost possible to help him,” Bielsa told Sky Sports.

“I think that the treatment he suffered ignores the fact that he played 40 games for Real Madrid.

“Apart from whether his performances were good or bad, we forget all the things he has done to get the team promoted.”
