Liverpool have renewed their interest in Nigeria international Moses Simon after the player missed out on going to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The  2018 UEFA Champions league runners-up appear not bothered by Simon’s injury record as they look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the 2018/2019 Premier League season.

According to the Liverpool Echo, manager, Jurgen Klopp wants the 22-year-old as back up for Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Valued at £10million, Simon who contributed six goals and three assists for Belgian side can play on either wing. He was also approached by premier league clubs, Brighton and Newcastle.

With Liverpool’s latest interest, it remains to be seen if Simon who has a year left on his contract would be keen on joining the Anfield side.

It will be recalled that Simon would have made the final World Cup list for Nigeria if not for a hip injury that put him an end to his dreams  at the last minute.

“I will definitely be back soon, stronger and better,” said Simon.

“To the Super Eagles, I wish you all the best of luck in Russia – go and make us proud,” said the player.

The player who would be out for three weeks is expected back for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.
