17.6m Euros: Ndidi makes history, remains Genk’s biggest transfer

Wilfred Ndidi’s move from Genk to Leicester City of England in 2017 remains the biggest transfer recorded by the Belgian club according to Bleacher Report.

Surprisingly, Ndidi’s move to Uk surpassed the 8 million Euros Chelsea bought Kevin De Bruyne from Genk.

Leicester City reportedly secured the services of the Nigeria international for 17.6 million Euros in January 2017.

Ndidi who has become a key player for the Fixes moved to Europe in 2015 to join Genk from Nath Boys of Lagos who got 200,000 Euros from the deal.

According to the report, Ndidi’s transfer surpassed the 18 million Euros Lazio paid Genk to sign Sergei-Milinkovic Savic because the Belgian club had first paid a million Euros to sign the midfielder after the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Other big transfer deals received by the Belgian club include 13.5 million Euros they received for Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen; 9 million Euros from Chelsea for Thibaut Courtois.
