18-man Zimbabwe squad lands Asaba for Eagles

 

An 18-man Zimbabwe national team has landed in Asaba, the Delta State capital for Saturday’s international friendly against Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

The team’s arrival was announced on the Twitter handle of the Zimbabwe Football Association on Friday.

“Warriors have arrived in Nigeria ahead of an International friendly against the Super Eagles on Saturday,” ZIFA @online_zifa posted.

Both Nigeria and Zimbabwe are preparing for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations which kicks off on June 21 in Egypt.

The Zimbabwean side which includes Anderlecht forward, Knowledge Musona slept over in Lagos on Thursday ahead of their trip today.

Zimbabwe are in Group A of the continental tournament against the host nation Egypt, Uganda, and DR Congo.

The East African side are aiming to improve on their previous records where they have never gone beyond the group exit in 2004, 2006 and 2017.

Defenders: Tendayi Darikwa, Jimmy Dzingai, Divine Lunga, Teenage Hadebe, Alec Mudimu.

Midfielders: Marshall Munetsi, Marvellous Nakamba, Danny Phiri, Ovidy Karuru, Kuda Mahachi, Talent Chawapihwa, Khama Billiat.

Forwards: Nyasha Mushekwi, Tino Kadewere, Evans Rusike, Knowledge Musona.
