2019-20 season :Real Madrid ready to break bank for Sadio Mane

Spanish league giants Real Madrid are eager to land Liverpool star and Senegal international Sadio Mane, but will have to break the bank to do that.

It is estimated that the Madrid will need to pay Liverpool £130million ahead of the 2019-20 season according to El Confidencial.

Real are planning a huge overhaul in the European summer with Mane, Manchester United Paul Pogba and Chelsea star Eden Hazard all linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

Zinedine Zidane’s reappointment last month followed after the club’s elimination from both the Spanish Copa del Rey and Uefa Champions League within the space of a week. Real also sit 14 points behind La Liga leaders and arch rivals Barcelona.

Mane, who has 21 goals in 42 games across all competitions this season, found the back of the net for Liverpool in their 3-1 loss to Real in last year’s UEFA Champions League final.

The 27-year-old has continued to impress for the Anfield club in the current campaign as they push for league and European honours.

The Spanish outlet report that Liverpool are unwilling to sell such a prized asset so cheaply, especially if Philippe Coutinho’s £145m transfer to Barcelona last year is any yardstick to go by.

The Senegal international has been a vital prong in Liverpool’s inexorable three-man forward line, along with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, this year.

Established stars Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric are all reported to be leaving the Bernabeu this summer, which Zidane hopes will enable him to launch a raid on the Premier League’s leading players.
