Amuneke is a huge figure in Egypt and the fans over here are desperately praying he helps Tanzania qualify for the 2019 AFCON,” a very close source informed SportingLife.

It will be like home coming for the former Barcelona star because his exploits for Zamalek haven’t been forgotten especially helping them to win the league title in 1993 before going on to win the Nations Cup in 1994 and crowned African best player.

Amuneke still have close ties with Egypt as the stat company he uses for analysing opponents are based in Arab country. However, the Tafia Stars needs to qualify first and he is not getting carried away with the task in front of him.”

Egypt hosted the AFCON in 1959, and also in 1986 and 2006 and will now become the first host of a 24- nation AFCON.
