2019 African Cup of Nations:  Let’s focus on Seychelles – Rohr

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has turned his attention to the qualification series for
the 2019 African Cup of Nations and has urged football lovers in Nigeria to follow suit.

The Franco-German Coach who believed that his team did not perform badly before being ousted from the
ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup by Lionel Messi inspired Argentina wants preparations to start in earnest
for the 2019 AFCON qualifying games against Seychelles and Libya.

“Like I have said before I am satisfied with the performance of my players in this World Cup and we
have learnt a great deal of lessons from the competition. Now we have to focus on the Africa Cup of
Nations’ qualifying matches against Seychelles and Libya”, Rohr disclosed.

He has also disclosed that he would be accompanying the team to Nigeria before the players depart for
their respective destinations.

Rohr told Sportinglife.ng also that before travelling back to his base in Europe he would meet with the
Sports Minister Solomon Dalung and the Amaju Pinnick led Board of the Nigeria Football Federation to
know what is next and to deliberate on his plans for the 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Seychelles and
Libya.

“Before going back to my base I will have a short briefing with the Honourable Sports Minister
and also the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation to talk briefly on the plans for the 2019
Africa Cup of Nations.

“I am using this medium also to thank everyone for support and I will go back to monitor the World
Cup”, Rohr said.
