2019 Nigeria Sport Awards get August date

The Nigeria Sport Award has announced it’s 8th Edition of the most prestigious award ceremony which will take place on the 29th August 2019 at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island in Lagos.

The annual merit award is said to reward Nigerian sports stars for their efforts in keeping the passion of sport alive in the hearts of so many Nigerians.

During the 2019 NSA media parley, a statement from the organizers of Nigeria’s longest running sports awards said that this year will have a different style from all other years putting tradition in place.

According to the chairman of award panel, Kweku Tandoh, last year had an impressive turnout and hopefully this year will be better in terms of entries and votes.

“Last year we had an impressive 7 million votes and this year we hope to have a better one. We have improved awards this year,  this year we have introduced what we call the Naija Flavour to this year’s event to make it more colourful. We expect that in terms of the nominations, performance we will have an exciting event

Also speaking, Chairman Sport Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN)  Lagos chapter, Debo Oshundun urged every media persons and outlets to give in their best for a mass publication this year.

“I am happy this edition as come to stay, but I am happy with my constituency which is the media, I am calling on them though they have been doing so well in the previous edition but there’s need for us to do more and make the award a global event,” he said.

He added: “Aside from that I am calling everyone of them to submit their entries on time and I have a special message to all my female colleagues,  I need their full participation and I challenge them to do so.”

The 8th edition of the award is tagged (Naija Flavour) and voting which has opened since June 11th will close October 13 2019 and there are twenty two categories up on grab with nomination options; Online form, Manual form and Social Media form.
