2019 World cup: Oparanozie dreams revenge against France

 

Nine months have rolled bye since France female national team thrashed Super Falcons 8-0 in a friendly, but Desire Oparanozie is still desirous of achieving one thing, revenge against Les Blues to prove that the bashing was a fluke.

December 8 World cup draw in Paris which pitched Falcons against France, Norway and Korea DPR according to her is just a perfect setting and will offer the Falcons an opportunity to redeem their image.

“I’m happy we are playing them in the group stage. That will give us the opportunity to let them understand that what happened in April earlier this year was a fluke.

With Nigerian Football Federation support on us, getting into the World Cup, if given adequate preparation and all the support we need to get into the world stage, I think. . .I believe we will match them strength to strength, physique to physique, whatever it is they bring on the field of play,” she enthused 

Oparanozie who plays for French side En Avant de Guingamp believes that the tie against France will look like playing at home for her adding however that no match will be cheap as every team at the world cup is capable of being a tough nut to crack.

Super Falcons are regular customers to the FIFA women world cup having featured in all editions since inception in 1991.

The Thomas Dennerby tutored side will be hoping to better their finest outing at the world stage which was recorded at the 1999 edition in USA where they made to the quarterfinals.
