5th FOC WEST tournament: Lucky Ede wins again

Lucky Ede has made a habit of winning the FOC WEST invitational tournament as he won for the fourth time at the 5th edition held yesterday at the Dolphin Golf club, Navy town, Ojo Lagos.

The Benue state born golfer said after the award ceremony: ‘I’m very happy winning the competition again. It was a tough tournament especially because I was playing against people that know my game so well as a result of training together.

‘I just finished school this June. So, by next year – I’ll be looking forward to going professional.’

Rear Admiral OB Daji who was present at the event rated the tournament very high.

He said: ‘This year’s tournament is unique in the sense that with the lockdown imposed Covid-19 and later the curfew imposed as a result of the #EndSar protest, it still recorded a huge attendance – that’s why I said, it’s unique.’

The golf course captain, Kronakegha Uti added: ‘We rate a championship by the level of the turnout. We have a turnout of over 130 players, which is something to reckon with.
