Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has called on his players to take Tuesday’s defeat to Serbia in good fate.

He charged the players to continue to sustain the spirit.

SportingLife.ng gathered that the Eagles coach had a session with the players after the game just to encourage them, before they departed London for their respective clubs.

He told the players that he could understand their disappointment for losing the game.

“You can imagine the mood in camp but as the head coach he was able to manage the situation properly so that by the time the players were leaving for their respective clubs, they were cheerful,” a team source told SportingLife.ng

“The coach reminded the boys that they have not been doing badly as a team and what has happened should be put behind  to forge ahead. He said it is a game and they have done their part and should forget the rest. We have three more friendly matches to play before the World Cup proper. Ours is to take the positives from the Serbia game, study them critically and implement,” our source said.

Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to the Serbs was the second in 14 matches under Rohr.

The Eagles next game is against the Democratic Republic of Congo on May 27 in Nigeria.
