Rohr hits Nigeria to monitor Ezenwa, Okechukwu

Sportinglife.ng can exclusively reveal that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr would be returning to the country from France soon to watch the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches to shop for players to compete for shirts with their foreign-based counterparts.

 

Sportinglife.ng can exclusively reveal that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr would be returning to the country from France soon to watch the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches to shop for players to compete for shirts with their foreign-based counterparts.

Sportinglife.ng scooped further that Rohr wants to monitor closely two of the invited players from the domestic league, namely goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and striker Gabriel Okechukwu to see how they are faring and see how regularly they play for their teams.

A close source to the manager revealed further that he wants to comb the domestic league venues to pick good players which he hopes to include in the country’s provisional 35-man squad expected to be submitted to chieftains of the Federation of International Football Federations (FIFA) on May 14.

The source stated that Rohr wants to pick at least six home-based players into the 35-man squad when the team assembles at a yet-to-be disclosed camp in Europe to prepare for the Mundial.
