The player sounded realistic when he weighed the options of playing for a high profile club such as Liverpool who parade one of the best attacking line-ups in Europe. He admitted it would be difficult.

“It would be a good club for me because I could play. In a top club, I would not be sure. I have to play, it’s the most important thing. I also know that in the second division there are good teams. When I play with Nigeria, I do not see any difference with the Premier League players,”” he said.

Belgian outlet, Het Laatste Nieuws on Wednesday revealed that Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign the £13million rated winger in the summer despite interests from Newcastle and Brighton.

A tweet from Belgian journalist, Kristof Terreur on his twitter account stated that Newcastle were in Belgium last weekend to watch Simon play against Anderlecht.
