Plateau United head coach, Kennedy Boboye has said that playing away from their home ground had nothing to do with their slim 2-1 against USM Alger of Algeria in the CAF Confederation Cup first leg play-off match at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.

“Lagos is Nigeria and Nigeria belongs to everybody. I don’t think playing away from home had anything to do with the outcome of the match. We can play anywhere. All we need to do is to get it right wherever we play our game.”

He said his players only failed to convert their chances.

“We didn’t utilize our chances well which was responsible for our slim win. If we had converted our chances we could have scored so many goals. We will go back home to look at the areas where we have to make corrections and improve on it,” Boboye said to SportingLife,ng.

King Osaga opened scoring for Plateau United in the 19th minute before Ben Yaya Faouza equalised for Alger in the 56 minutes. Emma James scored the winners for the hosts in the 73rd minute.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure handler is looking forward to a better outing in the return leg in a fortnight.
