Heartland place new Turkish coach on three-month deal

Nigeria Professional Football League side, Heartland have placed newly appointed coach, Mehmet Tayfun on a three-year contract which is subject to renewal based on performance.

SportingLife.ng understands that the Turkish coach was hired to provide technical support to the Owerri based side who are 18th on the NPFL league table.

“He will be with us for three months and thereafter we would sit down and review.  But l am hoping that he would continue,” said an official.

The arrival of Tayfun’s is as a result of a technical partnership deal signed between Turkish club, Boluspor, a former club of the coach and Heartland last year.

“We asked the club for technical assistance which they obliged by giving us Tayfun,” the official told Sportinglife.ng.

Tayfun who came into the country on Tuesday has since arrived Owerri, and would be introduced to the players and officials on Wednesday by club chairman Chibuzo ‘Bash’ Etuemena.

Tayfun, who holds a UEFA Pro License, will be assisted by  Ezekiel Onyearugbulem
