Bolanle Ambode Women Championship: Lakeside hammer Jojo Queens 4-0

Hat-trick by John Dorcas and one from Akinbo Ajoke ensured Lakeside Queens Football Club defeated Jojo Queens FC 4-0 in one of the preliminary matches of the maiden Bolanle Ambode Women Championship decided at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium on Wednesday.

Hat-trick by John Dorcas and one from Akinbo Ajoke ensured Lakeside Queens Football Club defeated Jojo Queens FC 4-0 in one of the preliminary matches of the maiden Bolanle Ambode Women Championship decided at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium on Wednesday.

The match which was dominated by Lakeside saw Dorcas, who was unarguably the Man of the Match hit the target twice in the first half. She then completed her hat-trick minutes after restart before Ajoke added to the tally in the dying minute of the encounter.
In a chat with Sportinglife.ng, Lakeside Queens coach, Ganiyu Oluwatobi who praised his players for putting up such a performance, warned them not to get carried away with the result.
“I’m proud of my players no doubt, but there is still a lot to be done. I’ve told them not to too joyous over the results because they will still face stronger opposition in this competition,” Oluwatobi told Sportinglife.ng after the encounter.
In the other matches decided at the Agege Stadium, Papa Queens whitewashed Dream Stars Ladies Feeders 4-0 in the first game of the day, while Jagunmolu Queens defeated Kadesh Queens 3-0 in the second game. The third match of the day also saw Vision Queens triumph over Royaltoms Queens by 2-0.
Meanwhile, all matches billed to hold on Thursday has been shifted to Friday.
The Chairman, Women Football Committee of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Wale Joseph informed Sportinglife.ng that the move became necessary because of the Nigeria Professional Football League rescheduled matchday 16 encounter between MFM FC and Nasarawa United at the Agege Stadium.
In Friday’s matches, FC Phoenix Queens will take on Leo Queens by 8:00am, while Goldenswan Queens will trade tackles with Dream Stars Ladies by 9:15am. Victory Queens will come up against Young Talent 99 Queens by 10:30am, while the last match of the day will see Ijamido Queens take on  Springsoca Queens by 11:45am. 
The championship powered by the office of the Senior Special Assistant and endorsed by the Lagos State Football Association, (LSFA) is being put together to discover the next generation of Women Football super stars for the state and the country in general.

The competition is scheduled to end on Sunday April 29th with the finals billed for the Agege Stadium.
