Plateau United players and officials will begin their journey for the return leg tie of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff round against USM Alger of Algeria on Friday.

The reigning league champions are seeking to protect their 2-1 lead from the first leg.

The team will make a stop-over in Cairo and will arrive in Algeria on Saturday ahead of the return leg billed for next Tuesday.

The Team Manager of the Peace Boys, Abel Iliya told SportingLife.ng that they decided to leave on time so that they can have enough to train and acclimatize to the weather conditions.

“We are leaving for Algeria through Egypt Air on Friday (today). We are going to stop over in Egypt where we are going to pass the night and we are going to arrive Algeria on Saturday so as to have at least two or more days of training,” Iliya said.

“We have put our house in order are hoping for a good result in Algeria. The players are ready and the logistics have been settled in time. We are going to get used to the weather and we are going to do everything to protect our lead there.”

Iliya also they were fully concentrated on the job at hand.
