Those expecting Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr to give Israeli based goalkeepers, Dele Aiyenugba and Austin Ejide a chance to prove themselves in the national team may have to forget it,SportingLife.ng can reveal.

One of Rohr’s close associates  has told SportingLife.ng that the two safe hands are not in his plans because he is satisfied with the crop of keepers at his disposal.

“If you ask the coach why he has not been inviting Dele and Austin, he would just become quiet. Sometimes he laughs about it because he knows where you are heading to. Then later, when you bring the matter up, he would just tell you that he is okay with Akpeyi, Uzoho and Ezenwa,” said an insider to SportingLife.ng.

He agreed that the two goalkeepers are doing well for their respective clubs, but he has decided to overlook them since he is building a team for the future, according to our source.

“I think we should respect his decision. He is the coach of the national team and obviously should know what is good for the team. He is aware that there are people pushing for their inclusion, but from my conversations with him, he must have shut the door against them. But who knows what can happen before the World Cup?.

Aiyenugba is the first choice keeper for Hapoel Ashkelon in the Israeli Premier League, while Ejide is with Hapoel Hadera. Both keepers are 34-years-old.
