CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: AL Hilal storm Nigeria with 33-man delegation

A 33-man delegation comprising 22 players and 11 officials of Sudanese club, Al Hilal will touch down in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Sunday April 15 ahead of Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup crucial return leg against Akwa United.

 

A 33-man delegation comprising 22 players and 11 officials of Sudanese club, Al Hilal will touch down in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Sunday April 15 ahead of Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup crucial return leg against Akwa United.

According to information made available to Sporting Life.ng by Akwa United’s media officer Mfon Udoh Patrick, the delegation will arrive at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos on Sunday before heading to Uyo.

“Though CAF regulations stipulates a squad of 25 with 18 players and 7 officials,” Patrick said.

He added: “The Sudanese Champions are not leaving anything to chance for the match that will determine who goes ahead into the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.”

Al-Hilal  have a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, which Akwa champions, of the Aiteo Federation Cup must cancel with three un-replied goals or more to progress into the lucrative money spinning stage.

Meanwhile an advanced party led by Mr. Hassan Taha is already in Uyo for hotel reservations and other arrangements. The match is scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium for 4 p.m.
