A close pal of Wenger who also is the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr paid tribute to the Arsenal manager, and hailed him for turning Nigerian football stars like Kanu Nwankwo and Alex Iwobi to top football stars people have reckoned with across the world.

“Personally I had a friendly relationship with Arsene (Wenger). He (Wenger) was born in Strasbourg and personally I had a friendly relationship with him.

” He was born in Strasbourg and me (I) in Mannheim very close place. We speak the same language. Last year I met him in Arsenal camp and we ate together speaking about football and especially Alex Iwobi

“Arsene is a real gentleman”, Rohr disclosed this to SportingLife.ng.

Rohr continued, “Arsène and Arsenal wrote one of the most successfull stories in Football.

“To stay such a long time in the same club is exceptional. The attacking style of his football, his fantastic mentality, his intelligence and his capacity to stay simple is making him one of the greatest personality in history of our game”, the Eagles boss summed up.
