Counsel to the Nigeria Football Federation, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has cleared the air on the Supreme Court ruling which has ordered for the relisting of the case between NFF President, Amaju Pinnick and factional leader, Chris Giwa at the Federal High Court in Jos.

In a press statement issued on Friday, Keyamo called on the Nigeria Football Family not to panic over the ruling.

“Supreme Court DID NOT NULLIFY AMAJU’S Election. The Supreme Court did NOT remove AMAJU from office. The Supreme Court onlyreferred the case back to the Federal High Court to be properly tried to which of the elections held in 2014 was right.

Amaju was not a party to the case at the Supreme Court so the Court could not have removed from office without joining the party and hearing from the party,” he concluded.

The defendants to the suit then  were the  outgone NFF executive committee led by Aminu Maigari, Musa Amadu, the Plateau State Football Association representing the football association in the 36 states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory, and the Minister of Sports.

This means that the NFF can continue with their programmes including its World Cup preparations.
