Odion Ighalo has continued to give Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr reasons to be happy as he was again on the scorer’s sheet for club, Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League.

The match which was played early Sunday morning (Nigeria time), saw Ighalo hit the net twice to increase his tally to seven for Yatai who defeated league leaders, Shanghai SIPG 2-1. It was only last weekend that the Nigerian struck four times for Yatai in their 5-2 victory against Guizhou Hengfeng.

The Super Eagles striker was on target in the 14th minute, after receiving a through ball from teammate Zha Jiang before firing past goalkeeper Yan Junling inside the 18-yard box.  The visitors however drew level four minutes before half time.

Twenty minutes before the end of the game , Ighalo was set up by Marinho just outside the box, made some brilliant touches and moved towards the penalty to fire in the winning goal that ended Shanghai’s unbeaten run in the season.  The win now takes Yatai to the seventh position with 11 points from 8 games.

With his performance so far, Igholo looks good to break his 15-goal record of last season.
