A police team were on Monday sighted at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja in response to threats by a factional group to take over the secretariat today.

About 9 policemen had arrived the federation as early as 7am this morning to arrest the embattled Chris Giwa and his group from fomenting trouble after a Supreme Court ruling had ordered for the relisting of the matter at the Federal High Court in Jos.

SportingLife.ng gathered from reliable sources that three policemen were inside the NFF building while the other six moved round the premises while allowing the business of the day to go on.

“They allowed staff to go and come in as long as you could identify yourself and they were extremely friendly with
everyone, including the media. Infact one of them told us that they were there for us and not against us,” one of the workers said.

There was no presence of any board member till this moment but top management staff including the general secretary Mohammed Sanusi could been seen at their duty post.

Giwa had dragged the FIFA recognised Amaju Pinnick-led board to the Supreme Court, to set aside the verdict of the Appeal Court after they had won at the High Court in 2014.
