Nigeria storm Tripoli for Mini-football tourney

Newly assembled Mini-football team of Nigeria by the Mini-football Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Abuja, will today depart Tripoli, Libya to participate in their first ever African Mini-football Cup Tournament holding between May 5 and 12, 2018.

 

 

Newly assembled Mini-football team of Nigeria by the Mini-football Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Abuja, will today depart Tripoli, Libya to participate in their first ever African Mini-football Cup Tournament holding between May 5 and 12, 2018.

The President of MAN, Andy Elewere however explained their involvement in the game and. the journey so far.

“Our journey thus far in setting up MAN and preparing for the tournament is one of speed, efficiency, professionalism and complete dedication. We were given a wild card entry into the tournament even before we concluded our registration process by the African Mini-football Federation. This was primarily because of the belief they have in our resolve to get things done and right.

“I can proudly tell you that we have successfully completed our registration with CAC and just 4 days ago, Nigeria was officially accepted and affiliated by the World Mini-football Federation at its Extraordinary General Assembly of 27th, April 2018.

“So I can authoritatively inform you that we are now one of the 144 countries that are duly accredited and affiliated to the WMF, whose membership cuts across the 6 continents of the World”, Andy Elewere declared at the send-forth of players and officials of the Mini-football Association of Nigeria’s national team called the Jaguars.

The Jaguars is coached by popular female team coach Madagu Pwandi while former Shooting Stars Football player and Coach Tunde Odubola is also assisting him.

The General Secretary of MAN Emmanuel Zira noted that ” Mini-football is another avenue for some of the players that cannot make it to the first or second eleven of the Nigeria’s national football teams to excel.

“The Jaguars will partipate in Group B comprising Tunisia, South Africa, Senegal and Kenya while Group A has Ghana, Ivory Coast and Somalia. The four best teams will qualify for the World Mini-football Cup holding next year in Australia”, Zira also disclosed.
