SportingLife.ng can reveal that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has received 40,000 euros (N18m) for the forthcoming friendly between the Nigeria’s women’s nation team, the Super Falcons and their France counterparts.

The money was paid by the French football federation for the team’s flight tickets, accommodation and logistics ahead of the April 6 friendly to be played in Le Mans, Paris.

It is unclear if the amount covers appearance fees for players and officials.

The game is at the instance of France who have commenced preparations towards the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup which they are hosting.

The Falcons have not regrouped since the 2016 Africa Women’s Championship (AWC) in Cameroon.

It will also be an opportunity for new coach, Thomas Dennerby to assess the 17 players invited for the encounter and also the AWC qualifiers against Burkina Faso in June.
