Giwa Resumes As NFF President

......vows to return Nigeria football to winning ways

After almost four years of denial, 2014 elected President of Nigeria Football Federation NFF  Ambassador Chris Giwa has finally resumed office as the authentic president of the federation.

After almost four years of denial, 2014 elected President of Nigeria Football Federation NFF  Ambassador Chris Giwa has finally resumed office as the authentic president of the federation.

On Monday morning, the Federal Government directed the NFF to comply with the Supreme Court judgment
delivered on April 27, 2018, which restored the orders of the Federal High Court, setting aside the  purported election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014 which Amaju Pinnick won.

Giwa who stormed the NFF glasshouse along with his board members by 10:00am went straight into the board room, before comingout to inspect each office and meeting with the NFF staff that were on duty. They met for about 20 minutes before addressing the staff.

He was warmly received by all staff, and they promised to give him all the support he needs to succeed.
Speaking at a world press conference in Abuja on Monday, Giwa promised to turn the fortunes of Nigeria
football.

According to him, I give all Glory to Almighty God for the gift of life. “August 26th 2014 election held at Chida Hotel in Abuja and by virtue of mandate we got where we were elected to serve for four years.
The aggrieved members went to Warri Delta state to conduct another election.

“But to the glory of God April 27th 2018 a judgement was delivered in our favour and we got the
restoration order on June 5, 2018

“We are here as the new NFF executive committee. We are going to give Nigerian good results because
Nigerian don’t want to hear story but results.

“Not only that, we are going to embark on a reconciliation move to all stakeholders, because it is
their interest that brought all of us together.

““We waited for the other board to finish the preparations for world Cup so that we can assume office,”
Giwa said.

Speaking on the issue of FIFA hammer failing on Nigeria,  Giwa urged Nigerian not to entertain fear,
adding that, Nigeria is a sovereign nation, NFF is a registered entity in Nigeria and issue is to be
determined by the Nigeria law.

He equally assured that the new board will not affect the Nigeria premier League.

In attendance were, Chris Giwa, Senator Obinna Ogba, Otunba Sunday Ajayi, Effiong Johnson, Dr. Shehu
Adamu, Yahaya Adama and Sani Fema

However, the next board meeting will be on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Monday directed the NFF led Amaju Pinnick board to
comply with the judgment of the Supreme Court which set aside the election held on September. 30, 2014.

The directive was given in a statement by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, Special Assistant on Media to the
Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, on Monday in Abuja.
