Ethiopia’s Legese, Meseret win Lagos City Marathon
Ethiopia duo of Suntayahu Legese and Dinke Meseret have won the Lagos City Marathon in the male and female category on Saturday.
Legese finished in a time of 02:17:28hrs ahead of Kipkorir (02:18:16hrs) and William Yegon (02:19:04hrs) both from Kenya who were second and third respectively. Legase has become 50,000 dollars richer for the victory.
While Meseret was first in a time of 02:48:02hrs, fellow compatriots Alemnesh Herepa (02:49:05hrs) and Kebena Chala (02:49:09hrs) were second and third in Saturday’s race which is IAAF-recognised
Nigeria’s Sunday Manasa, came sixth in 02:21:11hrs, to finish as the country’s best male performer, while Deborah Pam was Nigeria’s best performer in the female event in a time of 02:52:59hrs.
