Ajanah eyes national call up after fine start in Europe
Super Eagles star, Chinedu Ajanah has expressed delight following a five-star performance for Montenegro side, OFK Titograd Podgorica during his first league start in Europe.
The 18-year-old who featured for the Super Eagles in a glamour friendly against La Liga giants
Atletico Madrid last year was in the heart of defense when OFK Titograd Podgorica battled to a goalless draw away to Iskra.
Ajanah had featured as a substitute against defending champions Sutjeska on the opening day of the season, which ended in a slim 1-0 defeat but after a heartwarming result at Gradski Stadion the Nigerian is upbeat about the rest of the season.
Speaking to SportingLife.ng, Ajanah revealed: “I’m super proud of my first start in the league. It was a
good result for us to after the defeat against the champions on the opening day of the season.
“We are also away on Saturday against Rudar and I hope we go one better to pick all three points.
The fans have been so supportive and we will like to repay their loyalty with a win.”
The former Katsina United defender popularly referred to as ‘soldier’ because of his no-nonsense approach to matches has one eye set on a call-up to any of the national teams.
“I hope the handlers of the national team are watching because I’ll love to represent Nigeria at any level. The Olympics will be a dream if I can join the U-23.”
Ajanah penned a two-year deal for OFK Titograd Podgorica and played in both legs of the Europa League
ties against CSKA Sofia.
