Brazil’s 7-1 loss to Germany emerges World Cup’s greatest ever moment
The 2014 World Cup began on this day in Brazil and the tournament saw the host nation humiliated by eventual winners Germany.
Brazil were expected to win the tournament but only got to the semi-finals, unconvincingly at that. In the final four though they were absolutely battered 7-1 by Germany, who would go on to win the final.
That match will go down in football legend and it was voted the greatest World Cup moment of all time:
Look away now, Brazil fans.

We gave you four options. The first being Zinedine Zidane walking past the World Cup after being sent off in his last ever professional game.
Who could forget that headbutt on Italy defender Marco Materazzi back in 2006? It will forever be regarded as one of the most controversial moments in football history.
Then we went back to when South Africa hosted Mexico in an enthralling encounter in Johannesburg. The 80,000 capacity stadium nearly erupted when Siphiwe Tshabalala opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half.

Brazil suffering one of the most embarrassing World Cup defeats as Germany beat the hosts 7-1 to reach the final was your winner.
While Andres Iniesta’s tribute to Dani Jarque after scoring the winning goal in the 2010 final was also mentioned in the list.

Admittedly we did all of this before Milad Mohammadi famous rolly polly throw-in attempt that went hilarious badly when he bottled it in the final moment of Iran’s game with Spain last summer.
That’s got to be the greatest World Cup moment ever right?
Thoughts on our results? Do you think there’s a greater World Cup moment than the famous 7-1?
