‘I don’t like Novak Djokovic at all,’ Nick Kyrgios strikes again

After leaving him alone for a couple of months, Nick Kyrgios has switched into an attacking mode towards world no. 1 Novak Djokovic a couple of weeks ago.

From his Adelaide quarantine in January, Novak sent a letter to the Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley, calling for better conditions for all the players inside the Melbourne bubble and a chance for them to go out and train.

That wasn’t well-received among the locals who have been dealing with the pandemic in a great way, offering a chance for Nick to strike again and start a verbal war with Novak. Kyrgios called Djokovic a tool and questioned his GOAT status after losing both matches against him.

Asked about Nick, Novak said that he respects him a lot on the court, but not so much out of it, finishing that story and not talking about the Aussie again. Still, Kyrgios has been on his trail again, entering Margaret Court Arena on Sunday for the doubles action alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis and sending his love to the empty stadium, like Djokovic usually does.

After mocking the 17-time Major Champion, Kyrgios said (he and Thanasi lost the match against the 4th seeds) that he doesn’t like Novak at all. Also, Nick stated that his acts and words are not meant to be taken seriously, as he only wants to have fun.

Novak injured his abdomen against Taylor Fritz on Friday, taking a medical timeout and losing sets three and four before starting all over in the decider to beat the American with a double break and remain on the title course.
