Newcastle learn significant cost of sacking manager Bruce

Newcastle United would have to pay manager, Steve Bruce, more than £4 million if they were to sack him.

According to The Times, the 60-year-old is still the man in charge in the eyes of owner Mike Ashley.

Bruce has impressed the Magpies decision-makers with his ability to keep the team in the Premier League on a modest budget.

However, the fact he may be owed a sizeable severance package in the event of an early departure may also persuade Ashley to stick with him.

Fans are unhappy at the negative football played under Bruce, and the fact they are only barely above the relegation zone.
