Ferguson tipped to play appointment role at Man Utd
Sir Alex Ferguson has been tipped to play in role in Manchester United’s search for a new executive vice-chairman following Ed Woodward’s announcement he is standing down.
Woodward has held the role since 2012 after CEO David Gill left his post – one year before Ferguson retired.
But the 49-year-old former accountant announced last week he would be walking away at the end of the season following Manchester United’s doomed European Super League venture.

A handful of candidates have already been linked with the key role at Old Trafford.
And Peterborough United’s Director of Football Barry Fry thinks the Red Devils would be missing a trick if they didn’t ask for the opinion of legendary Man United manager Ferguson before making a decision.
