AC Milan sets decision date for Fikayo Tomori

 

Italian giants AC Milan have set aside May as decision date over whether or not to buy Nigeria born England international Fikayo Tomori.

Tomori who is on loan from English premier league side Chelsea has so far been measuring up in the Italian capital blending with teammates and making huge impacts in matches involving the side so far.

Tomori and Compatriot Tammy Abraham were handed England call up last year at a time when they were considering playing for Nigeria.  Both players have however since moved on showcasing their skills for both club and country.

Tomori 23-year-old was an instant hit for Milan after joiningin January and has been an important player for the Italian giants since his arrival, making 11 appearances in all competitions.

A recent report claimed that the Serie A outfit had been delighted with Tomori’s performances, while Chelsea regretted allowing him to leave in the winter window. He was ferried out of Stamford Bridge while now sacked coach Frank Lampard was at the helm of affairs.

New coach Thomas Tuchel did not see immediate need for him to return to the Bridge as he has quite a number of legs to prosecute his ambition of taking the Blues to the top.  His magic has been working so far and got a major boost with qualification for the Quarterfinals of the Champions league.

Milan will be able to sign Tomori on a permanent basis for €28m (£23.9m) this summer, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a final decision from the club will be made in May.

“AC Milan are “so happy” with Fikayo Tomori impact and performances – the board will decide in May on the €28m buy option,” posted Romano on his official Twitter account.

The England international made 27 first-team appearances for Chelsea before embarking on his ‘missionary’ journey to AC Milan.

Tomori in a recent interview confirmed that he is enjoying his sojourn in the club as it has provided him opportunity of competing against and with some of the best players in the league including Sweden international Zlantan Ibahimovic and Lukaku who had a viral on the pitch clash during the Copa Italia.
