AC Milan targeting £45m wantaway Man City star Silva

AC Milan are interested in a £45m move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, according to reports.

Silva, 27, is seeking an exit after Pep Guardiola was unable to provide him guarantees over game-time following the arrival of Jack Grealish.

His first choice was Atletico Madrid but the La Liga champions could not meet City’s asking price and he has since refused a move to Tottenham Hotspur as part of an offer for Harry Kane.

With the transfer window closing on August 31, time is running out for the playmaker to find a new club.

According to the Daily Star, Milan are preparing a late raid for his services.

The Rossoneri are set to propose a two-year loan deal for a fee of £15m, with the move then becoming permanent for £30m.

Such an offer may appeal to City as it means they will turn a profit on their initial £43m investment.

Guardiola said of Silva’s future earlier this month: “Not just Bernardo, there are two, three, four players who want to leave but they are our players under contract and when they bring some offers and want to leave, we are open to discuss for absolutely everything with all the players in the squad.

“But it depends on them and otherwise they continue to train and I decide if they play or don’t play.”
