AFCON 2021 qualifiers: CAF names officials for Eagles, Squirrels cracker

Africa’s football governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has named officials for next week’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

According to a report on NFF official Twitter handle, Senegalese Issa Sy is the match referee and will be assisted by compatriots Nouha Bangoura (assistant referee 1), El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gueye (assistant referee 2) and Fatou Thioune (fourth official).

The encounter which is expected to kick-off from 5 pm will see Ghana’s Munkaila Nassam Adam as match commissioner while Kria Samir Bouzareah from Algeria will play the role of referee assessor.

The Super Eagles will welcome back the likes of captain Ahmed Musa from injury alongside Kenneth Omeruo, Abdullahi Shehu, Bryan Idowu, Mikel Agu and Samuel Kalu.

Interestingly, the Super Eagles head to Maseru on Friday, November 15 for their clash against Lesotho’s Crocodiles slated for the artificial turf of the Maseru-Setsoto Stadium as from 6pm Lesotho time (5pm Nigeria time) on Sunday, November 17.
