AFCON QUALIFIER: Libya drags Nigeria to Algeria

Barring any last minute change, Libya will host Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Algeria  in the return leg of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on October 13, three days after the first leg would have been played in Nigeria.

This was revealed by the Managing Director of the Libyan football team, Adel Al-Khumisi after the team’s 0-0 away draw to South Africa at the weekend.

“Libyan team has chosen to play the fourth round of the African Cup qualifiers against Nigeria in
Algeria,’ he told the Libya’s Political Observer.

Libya’s decision to move the game to Algeria is due to the political unrest going on in the North African country.

Al-Khumsi also revealed during the briefing that the FA has ruled out any friendly match prior to the October 10 qualifier in Nigeria so that players can concentrate on club commitments.

Libya currently top Group E with four points after Saturday’s 0-0 draw away to South Africa and its 5-1 drubbing of Seychelles on Matchday One.
