AFCON qualifier: Osimhen, Aribo vow to wreck Sierra Leone

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Glasgow Rangers forward, Joe Aribo, have promised to positively support Nigeria’s Super Eagles to record an outright victory over the visiting Sierra Leone in Benin, Edo State in the AFCON qualifier.

In an interview with the Super Eagles TV crew on Twitter, Osimhen vowed to put in his best to ensure that the team wins the games irrespective of the goals he may score for Nigeria during the match.

“It’s really a good feeling to be back into the squad and I’m really happy and the squad is raring to go on Friday. It is nothing but victory but to be realistic the game would not be easy and it can not be easy and we have to prepare well for the match,” he said.

On the absence of fans at the stadium, he said: “It is disappointing that fans will not be at the stadium to cheers us up but we understand the covid situation and it is important for us to support us from their respective homes.

“For me, my goals will come but a victory for the team comes first. I just want to help the team win this game.

In the same vein, Aribo said he would try and translate his energy into goals against Sierra Leone. “I hope I have a great start so that we can get the result”.
