Bryan Idowu

Idowu, who stars for Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia, will be out of Eagles’ game against Benin Republic at Uyo on Wednesday and Lesotho away at the Setsoto stadium, Maseru on Sunday
Home based Ifeanyi Anaemena of Enyimba Football Club of Aba has been named his replacement, according to a tweet by the official Super Eagles handle.
The Tweet read: “Bryan Idowu is out of the 2021 Afcon qualifiers owing to passport issues…Ifeanyi Anaemena of Enyimba FC is his replacement.”
Anaemena has been ever-present for the People’s Elephant in recent seasons, leading them to the semi-finals of the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup and winning the Nigeria Professional Football League for a record eighth time in 2019.
He got his first senior national team call-up with the Nigeria (Chan team) that lost 4-3 on aggregate to Togo in the 2020 African Nations Championship qualifiers.

Russian-born Idowu has been out of favour since the end of the 2018 World Cup, no thanks to the emergence of SC Paderborn 07 fullback Jamilu Collins and he’s also behind Ola Aina in Gernot Rohr’s pecking order of fullbacks.
Since the tournament ended in Russia, the Lokomotiv Moscow man has played in only two national team matches, against 2019 AFCON Qualifier against Seychelles  and Uganda in pre-AFCON friendly in November last year.
