AFCON Qualifiers: Rohr reveals Super Eagles target against Sierra Leone

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has revealed that Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be eyeing a total haul of six points from the double-header with Sierra Leone in their AFCON qualifying matches.

The Nigeria currently lead Group L with six points from two games after wins against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Nigeria will play their third game of the campaign at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Friday afternoon against Sierra Leone, and Rohr said the team is ready for the challenge.

“We have our focus and objective for the matches,” he  noted.

“We want to win both games, so we can have the ticket and be more relaxed for the final games. You know next year, we also have the World Cup qualifiers to focus on. It is better to get the AFCON job behind us now.”

The Franco-German tactician was also quick to add that he is happy with the spirit showed by the players in camp.

“I am excited by the spirit of the players and their sense of dedication and commitment. We have not played a competitive match in a year, but they look very ready and good to go.

“Our mission is the six points in these two matches,” Rohr summed up.
