AFCON U-23: Olympic Eagles build more on fitness

Towards the AFCON Under-23 championship in Egypt, Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles intensified their preparations by visiting gymnasium to keep themselves in proper physical condition for the challenges ahead.

The team spent time on physical exercise as they stepped up preparation towards the Cup of Nations in Egypt.The event is billed to hold  between November 8th and November 22nd.

Determined to make great impact at the competition, the Imama Amapakabo’s boys went through a tough exercise just to keep fit at the Hotel Mercure, Ismailia, the same place Super Eagles camped prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June.

The Olympic Eagles are in Group B and will contend with Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and South Africa in that order at the Al Salam Stadium.

Hosts Egypt head Group A that also has Ghana, Cameroon and Mali with matches to hold at the Cairo International Stadium.

Nigeria’s first match of the campaign is against Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday, 9 November.
The top three teams at the eight-nation tournament will qualify to represent Africa in the Men’s Football event of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
