Afrobasket: Nigeria mauls Cameroun 106-39 to top Group B

Reigning champions, D’Tigress of Nigeria defeated Cameroun 106-39 yesterday to top Group B of the Women Afrobasket in Dakar,  Senegal.

It was meant to be a tough encounter but the Nigerian women made easy work of their West African neighbours who looked jaded throughout the game.

The defending champions dominated the entire game getting revenge over the Camerounians who beat them
at the semi-final stage in Yaounde in 2015.

Nigeria won all the four quarters 21-7, 28- 16, 23-10, 34-6 for a cumulative score of 106-39.

D’Tigress will know their quarterfinal opponents after a mini round-robin for the second and third-place team in all the groups.
