Aguero to earn £220,000 weekly after penning new City contract

Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero has signed a one-year contract extension
worth £220,000 per week.

Last Summer, Atletico Madrid were interested in re-signing but Aguero, declined, opting to prolong his
stay at the Etihad.

‘My idea was being here for 10 years,’ Aguero said. ‘I’ve been here for seven years, it’s going to be
10 when the contract expires.

‘This was the main reason I signed. I’m very happy because they have treated me very well since the
first day I got here.

‘I’m very happy with everything that involves the club, my team-mates, the staff and the management

Aguero, who joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, took some time to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s
demands and had considered leaving City during the Catalan’s first campaign in charge.

Aguero, who could make his 300th appearance for City in their weekend clash with Cardiff City, has
scored 204 goals for the club in all competitions.
