Aiteo Cup: 1,000 fans storm Asaba for Pillars as Deputy Governor charges players

Kano State Deputy Governor Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has charged Kano Pillars to go into today’s Aiteo Cup final against Rangers full of hope and determination to win the trophy.

Gawuna made the charge when he addressed the players and the technical crew during their last training session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening.

The Deputy Governor encouraged the players to write their names in the history book of the club by winning the trophy for the first time.

“You have to come all out like fighters and win the trophy. You have come a long way to reach this stage and we can’t afford to lose it at this moment. You need to be focused and determined to achieve this. The State Government and people of Kano are behind you. So you should go to the pitch to make people of the state proud by writing your names in gold. I am assuring you that the State Government will reward you with what you never expected in your football career if you lift the trophy on Wednesday,” Gawuna promises the team.

However, the chairman of Kano Pillars supporters club Bashir Muazu revealed to SportingLife.ng that over one thousand fans had arrived in Asaba from Kano State to cheer the team to victory.

Mauzu said the fans arrived with 12 luxury buses and 10 coaster buses. He stressed that he and his team would mobilize their fans from Warri, Asaba and it’s environs to the stadium today.
