Aiteo Cup: Eagles defender dangles N100k per goal at Sokoto United

Super Eagles defender, Abdullahi Shehu has promised to reward Sokoto United with the sum of N100,000 for each goal scored against Kano Pillars in the 2018 Aiteo Cup Round of 32 clash billed for Kaduna on Sunday, SportingLife.ng reports.
Kano Pillars defeated  Ugwa United 3-2, while Sokoto United beat MFM 4-3 on penalties after playing goalless in the regulation period of their Round of 64 clash.
The utility defender who joined Bursaspor in Turkey from Cypriot side, Anorthosis Famagusta in January made the pledge in a 44 minutes video uploaded on his Twitter account on Thursday.

“Hello everyone, my name is  Abdullahi Shehu as you all know. Emotional feelings for me, I started my career with home club, Sokoto United before joining Kano Pilkars. This message is for Sokoto United players, I’m just here to support you guys for the game coming up against Kano Pillars in the Aiteo Cup. I want to let you know that each goal you score against Kano Pillars, I will give you N100,000 for it.
If you score two goals you will get N200,000 and if you score three, you’ll get N300,000 from me and if you can score five to 10 goal, I will give you the amount.
“I wish you all the best and success in the game with injury free,” the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist said.

Recalled that the Nigeria international was rewarded with land and monetary gift to support his foundation and a sponsorship to the holy pilgrimage in Mecca by the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his exemplary role in the senior national team during the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Abdullahi started his career with former Nigeria Premier League champions Plateau United before moving to Sokoto United. He joined Kano Pillars from Sokoto, were he left for Al-Qadsia in Kuwait. He later spent two seasons with Portuguese second division side Uniao Madeira before heading to Cyprus.
