Strong indications abound that Anthony Joshua will laugh last in the heavy weight boxing rematch billed for Saudi Arabia December 7.
Eddie Hearn has warned Andy Ruiz that his dramatic weight loss could hand Anthony Joshua the advantage in their rematch on December 7.
Ruiz Jr shocked the boxing world when he stopped Joshua in the seventh round back in June at Madison Square Garden despite heading into the fight as overwhelming underdog.
And ahead of their rematch in Saudi Arabia, the 30-year-old has got fans talking once more – this time due to his dramatic weight loss as he looks to stun Joshua yet again
Joshua’s promoter Hearn has been trading insults with the Mexican in the build up to the fight by calling him ‘chubby’.
This led to Ruiz apologising to Hearn for taking the undefeated record of his star client earlier this year.
Now Hearn has responded by encouraging Ruiz to lose another two stone before the highly-anticipated rematch in the Middle East.
‘It’s a dangerous move to start taking weight off, in my opinion. I love it. I hope he loses another two stone,’ Hearn told talkSPORT.
‘Joshua is very focused. It all comes down to the night. This time Anthony will be 100 per cent ready for Andy Ruiz.
‘We still have to execute the game plan and win the fight. Its one month today and it’s the biggest fight of the year.
‘It’s one of the biggest fights of our generation in terms of heavyweight fights and heavyweight rematches.’
The Nigeria born British boxer has been a bit on the quite side lately preferring to concentrate on the forthcoming clash where he is considered an underdog in some quarters. Boxing pundits believe AJ is stand a good chance of turning the table after review all the shortfalls leading to his defeat by Ruiz who prior to the fight was not seen as hot favorite to emerge from the ring victorious.
