Ajay excited to win CAF Champions League player of the week prize
Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi is excited to be named CAF Champions League player of the week.
Ajayi emerged the most outstanding player in the competition following his impressive performance for Egyptian giants club Al Ahly against Al Mereikh of Sudan last week.
The Super Eagles striker recorded an assist as the holders defeated Sudanese giants 3-0 in their first group phase game played at Cairo international stadium.

In his reply tweet, Ajayi said: “I really appreciate all fans and supporters that voted me as #TotalCAFCL Player of the week. Thank you all for this honour. Up @alahly 😎”
Interestingly, Ajayi netted the decisive penalty to help Al Ahly finish third in just concluded FIFA World Club Club is expected to be in action again on Tuesday, when they take on Simba SC of Tanzania in their second group game.
