Akwa United to unveil new players, club anthem on Friday in Uyo
Twice Federation Cup champions, Akwa United will on Friday officially unveil their newly signed players to the media, fans, and supporters of the club at a brief ceremony expected to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
The Promise Keepers who placed second last season in the league have released some players of the club who were deemed surplus to requirements and have contracted top quality players from within and outside Nigeria to strengthen the team ahead of the 2018-19 season.
A statement from the media department of the team disclosed that the event will start by 10 am and that the event will also witness the official presentation of the Club’s anthem: God’s Strength We Possess to Strike.
Akwa United will begin their quest for a maiden NPFL title with a home fixture against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday, January 13, 2019.
In a related development, Akwa United will this Sunday worship at The Apostolic Church in Ukana Onuk in Essien Udim Local Government Area for a special Thanksgiving/ Dedication Service.
The club will use the occasion to thank God for the 2018 NPFL season and also dedicate the 2019 season to God in prayers.
