Alaba an exception for Juve

Bayern Munich have accepted that David Alaba will leave the Allianz Arena and Juventus are reportedly among the candidates to pick up the future free agent.

The Austrian full-back has repeatedly rejected the contract offers from Die Roten and Tuttosport claims there are only a few teams in Europe who are in the running for his signature.

“I never thought we would get to this point,” former Juventus player and now Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sky Sport Germany.

The director confirmed Bayern have accepted that Alaba will leave on a free transfer unless the club manages to sell the defender in January.

Albeit on a free transfer, the newspaper points out the players salary demands, and sporting ambitions, limit his options in European football.

Previous reports have suggested Alaba was offered to Juventus and Inter and Tuttosport reiterates agent Pini Zahavi has focused on a few clubs.

Juventus are among them, with Real Madrid and Manchester City mentioned too, but the newspaper writes Fabio Paratici must be prepared to cough up €15m plus bonuses a season to sign the Austria international.

The 28-year-old goes against the policy launched during the summer, as Juventus targeted to reduce salaries, and a deal for Alaba would have to be an exception to the new rule.
