The white jersey features a burgundy collar and sleeve, with an off-white badge and Adidas logo.

The shirt commemorates the club’s founding on February 27, 1900, and is modelled on the kit for Bayern’s first ever German Championship winning season in 1932.

In a statement, Adidas said: ‘To create it, the adidas design team studied the jersey worn during its first ever German Championship winning season in 1932, identifying what made it so iconic, and what could be adapted for the 2020 release.

‘Combining design principles and motifs from the two different eras, the 2020 edition represents the history and future of one of the most iconic clubs in the world.’

Back then, teams had to qualify in regional championships before playing in a knockout tournament.

Bayern’s first triumph saw them beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2–0 in the final, but their progress in the following years was halted by the advent of Nazism.

The 1933 season was the last of its kind before it was replaced by the Nazi-installed Gauligas, 16 regional divisions.

Bayern’s Jewish club president and coach were both forced to resign and many others associated were also purged, and it was branded a ‘Jew’s club’.

The German side did not go on to win another league title until the rebranded Bundesliga in 1969, and they have since gone on to win 27 more.

Former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry starred after netting his sixth goal of the season in the capital with a double.

The German international scored twice in three minutes shortly after half-time to get Bayern up and running, before Robert Lewandowski added the third to give Chelsea an uphill task at the Allianz for the return leg. Alaba only recently extended his contract to 2021.
