Almeria demand £26m as Man City join transfer race for goal-machine Umar Sadiq

Determined to rise above the achievements of last season, Manchester City have joined the transfer race for Almeria striker, Umar Sadiq.

Sadiq, 24, has attracted attention from a number of European clubs including Man City after the striker scored 28 goals and provided nine assists across all competitions last season.

The forward started off the 2020-21 season at Serbian club Partizan, which saw him score six goals in ten games.

But in October 2020, Sadiq joined LaLiga2 outfit Almeria and he continued his goal-scoring exploits finding the back of the net 20 times in the league.

And now according to Spanish outlet AS, Man City have joined the likes of Spartak Moscow and Eintracht Frankfurt in the race for the Nigerian international.

The report states that Sadiq would be signed as a City Football Group signing.

And he will be sent out on loan to newly-promoted Troyes in France.

It is suggested that should Sadiq have a successful spell in the top flight of French football, he would be considered for a first-team role at Man City.

First, City will have to tempt Almeria to sell and the striker has a £51.6million release clause.

But it is believed that the Spanish club will entertain offers nearer to £25.8m.
